Wealth is Not Wicked, and Poverty is Not Piety

Many people believe that wealth is reserved for a select few, isn’t morally correct, or that success is purely a matter of luck. However, God’s original design for success is deeply rooted in principles that require action, faith, and stewardship. Wealth and success are not hidden from us—they are hidden for us, locked inside opportunities, stored within industries, and revealed through systems.

Here are five key insights to help you unlock the wealth and success God has designed for you:

1. Put in the Work – It’s Non-Negotiable

God doesn’t hand us the finished product; He gives us the seed. Everything valuable undergoes a process of conversion—wheat into bread, oil into fuel, gold into jewelry. Stop rejecting the process, we serve a God of order. Embrace the work and trust that the wealth is in the journey.

2. Steward Well With What You Have

You already have what you need to lead a successful and prosperous life. The problem is, many of us fail to tap into our gifts, talents, and skills. If you don’t learn how to convert opportunities into success, you’ll continue to watch them pass by while you pray for a blessing.

You might be saying to yourself, “I don’t know what I’m good at”. In that case, ask some friends and family what they think your talents and gifts are. There’s been countless times where people help pull more out of me than I initially was able to on my own.

3. Operate from a State of Abundance

Shift your mindset and relabel what you have as sufficient. God isn’t withholding from you—He’s waiting on you to move. After all faith without works is dead (James 2:17-26). The enemy wants you to feel like you never have enough, just as Eve did in Genesis 3:5. Don’t fall for the deception of lack.

4. The Ability to Convert is the X Factor

Most people miss their breakthrough because they believe they lack resources. But God isn’t sending something new—He’s revealing what you already have. Consider these biblical examples:

2 Kings 4:1-7

There was a widow that had approached Elisha, the prophet, in distress because her creditors are threatening to take her two sons as slaves to settle her debts. Elisha asks her what she has in her house, and she replies that she has only a small jar of olive oil. He instructs her to borrow as many empty jars as she can from her neighbors and to fill them with the oil from her singular jar.

The widow follows his instructions, pouring oil into the borrowed vessels until none are left… they oil would not stop pouring until they ran out of extra jars. It kept multiplying. She then reports to Elisha, who tells her to sell the oil, pay off her debts, and live on the remaining profit with her sons.

In the moment the women failed to realize she had exactly what she needed, she operating from a place of lack not believing that the Lord would provide. Now transparently I probably would’ve had the same exact reaction she did lol. But you get the point.

Matthew 14:13-21 (Jesus feeding the 5,000)

Another similar example in the bible is in Matthew 14. Jesus hears about the death of John the Baptist and seeks solitude. However, a large crowd follows him, and he has compassion on them, healing their sick. As evening approaches, the disciples suggest sending the crowd away to find food. Instead, Jesus tells them to feed the crowd.

“They said to him, “We have only five loaves here and two fish.” - Matthew 14:17

The disciples were filled with doubt, failing to realize God was about to do something extraordinary! Jesus took the loaves and fish, blesses them, and breaks them. He then gives them to the disciples to distribute (over 5,000 men, women, and children). Miraculously, everyone eats and is satisfied, and there are twelve baskets of leftovers collected afterward. Where the disciples thought there wasn’t enough Jesus said it is enough, it is sufficient, and then he multiplied it.
