Today I turn fifty.

That’s an interesting sentence because inside I still feel twenty-five, until I stand up too fast.

I’ve spent half a century discovering that life isn’t about accumulating answers, it’s about learning to ask better questions.

I’ve learned that information can fill the mind, but only love transforms the heart.

That becoming is greater than arriving.

That success is temporary, but significance echoes through the lives we touch.

I’ve also discovered that God has never been in a hurry with me. Every detour, every disappointment, every unexpected turn wasn’t wasted. They were all invitations into a larger perspective.

At fifty, I don’t want a bigger platform.
I want a clearer heart.

I don’t need to prove my worth.
I want to reveal it through the way I love.

I’m less fascinated with being impressive and more captivated by being present.

The older I get, the more childlike wonder feels like wisdom.

Maybe that’s the irony of growing older. We spend the first part of life trying to become adults, and the second half remembering that the Kingdom belongs to children.

So here’s to fifty. Less pretending. More presence. Less striving. More abiding.

Less noise. More wonder.

If life is a classroom, then fifty isn’t graduation.

It’s finally realizing what the teacher has been talking about all along.

Here’s to the next chapter, where the jokes are better, the conversations are deeper, and hopefully I can still remember why I walked into the kitchen.

Much love,
